Stash or Trash? Empties Fall 2013

Thanks for stopping by my little blog. If you're a new reader, WELCOME! :) If you are a regular, WELCOME BACK! :) For my regular readers, I've tried out some new photography and I'd love to hear your feedback. Thank you to the darling Shannel Lee from A Little Over Thirty for inspiring me to be more creative with my photography. Her photos are always so stunning; they're like visual little works of art. I will admit that I got very little sleep last night and woke with a raging migraine this morning. So, I decided to get creative to get my mind off my never ending woes of life with a chronic neuro condition. Anywhoooo, on to the good stuff which is the real reason you're here.

Suave Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo - STASH
I love this dry shampoo as does my husband. This is a great dry shampoo and at a bargain price. I havetdried many others and I just can't see paying more when Suave offers a great option at a great price. Yes, it can leave a white film if you spray too much or spray it too closely. I never have a problem when I use it sparingly and don't spray it too closely. Granted I have lighter hair; but; my husband has black thick hair. We never have a problem with any white residue not coming right out just by running my fingers through his hair.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Spray Gel - STASH
I have naturally curly hair which I normally straighten. On occasion I do embrace my curls and when I do I like to use a spray gel rather than a thick gel. I first use an anti-frizz serum and then I fluff and scrunch my curls with my fingers. After it's at least half dry then I give it a spritz with the spray gel. I love that this sprays lightly and sprays evenly. This is important with spray gel since it tends to be thick. This is a must have for the days I embrace my curls.

Simple Eye Makeup Remover - STASH

This one is simple; this is a great eye makeup remover. It removes eye makeup, it doesn't make my eyes sting. It's effective and gentle which is a great combination. The greatest thing is that it doesn't leave a greasy, oily film on my eyes.

Maybelline Clean Express Makeup Remover - Trash
This is one of those dual layer formulas that you need to shake before using. It works quite well; but, it does leave an oily film on my eyes which I don't care for. I would repurchase the Simple brand remover over this one.

Garnier The Refreshing Remover Cleansing Towelettes - Trash

I enjoy these and they work great. They do a great job of getting makeup off before I wash my face at night. The towelettes are soft and they have plenty of cleansing juices. However, I prefer the Simple Radiance Cleansing Wipes. I enjoy the size and the quality of the towelettes themselves.

True Blue Mini Peppermint Face Scrub - Trash
I enjoyed this scrub while I had it. I was glad I got the opportunity to try it out. I liked the cooling, refreshing properties of the peppermint. The scrubbing beads weren't too harsh. It didn't dry my face out or leave it feeling tight. I just happen to have several other scrubs that I need to use up before I buy another one. I wouldn't pay the price for this scrub but I would be glad if I received it as a gift or part of a kit.

Lumene Vitamin C+ Pure Radiance Day Cream - Trash
I didn't find this cream to be overly moisturizing and it stung my face a little bit. I think the acid in the Vitamin C was just a little to harsh for my skin. I did use up this very small sample but I will NOT be repurchasing. I wouldn't even use another sample if it was given to me.

Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream - STASH
I have already repurchased this. I truly enjoy this moisturizer. I love that it's a lightweight gel rather than a heavy cream. I love using this cream after using a scrub as it feels more like a serum rather than a cream. I love how this leaves my face feeling soft and moisturized. It's also gentle enough to use under my eyes.

Clean and Clear Finishes Mattifying Moisturizer - Trash
I am pretty sure this product has been discontinued as I can no longer find it in stores. I don't find that it's particularly mattifying or particularly moisturizing.

Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer - Trash
As far as drugstore moisturizers go this one is on the higher end of the price spectrum. I didn't find that this one left my skin feeling supple and soft. It just didn't really seem to do much. It left a slight sticky feeling on my skin. I got through it; but, I won't do it again.

Mirabella Perfecting Powder - Trash
This one just isn't for me. More information can be found in my Shop My Stash September Wrap Up post. It's a gonner.

ELF Plumping Lip Glaze - Trash
I covered this in the wrap up of Shop My Stash September Wrap Up post, as well. These are just, ummm NO! These are being kicked out!

Lancome Color Design Lipstick (Discontinued) - Trash
This was given to be by a friend who received it as a gift with purchase. I wore it a few times and the formula was fine. I just never thought it was a terribly flattering color on me. I haven't worn this one in years and it's not longer welcome to just hang around my collection.

Mary Kay Signature Lipstick (Discontinued) - Trash
It wasn't a bad lipstick. I just outgrew it. There was point when these were the only two lipsticks I owed. I have since collected MAC, Revlon, Maybelline, Milani and many more. I haven't worn either of these in years. These were just kicking around my collection and it's time to permanently retire them.

NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil - Trash
While I love the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils I just don't care for their Jumbo Lip Pencils. They sit in my collection unused. It's just time to permanently retire them.

Estee Lauder Artist's Eye Pencil - Trash
Again, pencil eyeliner just doesn't work for me because I have the world's weepiest eyes. This one was given to me by a friend who had received it from a relative who worked for Estee Lauder. This one will be finding a new home with someone who can appreciate it.

Jordana Pencil Eyeline - Trash
What was I thinking? Pencil eyeliner just doesn't work well for me because it never stays put. I can't even explain why I bought this. Of course, this one doesn't stay put any better than any others. This one will get passed on to someone who can appreciate it. It's a dark black eyeliner and it's creamy. It just doesn't work for me.

L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner - Trash
How is it possible that an eyeliner just disappears? Where exactly does it go? I am certain I don't know but that is exactly what happens when I wear this liner. I cannot explain how but this liner just evaporates into thin air. Now, I'm going to make the whole thing disappear.

Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner - STASH
I love, love, love this liquid eyeliner. It lasts all day on my eyes without going anywhere. You get a ton of product and it's impossible to go through it before it expires. These guys were beyond their prime and they have already been replaced.

Blinc Mascara - Trash
It's been quite some time since I actually used this mascara but I found the tube still kicking around in my collection. I loved this mascara. It was the first tubing mascara I ever tried. I love tubing mascaras for my bottom lashes because they do not smudge or transfer. I have discovered that L'Oreal makes a great tubing mascara so I can't see paying the price for Blinc.

Clarins Double Fix Mascara Waterproofing Seal - STASH
This waterproofing seal can magically change any mascara into a waterproof mascara. Once you have put  on your mascara, place a coat of this one top. This will create a waterproof seal on top of any mascara. Since I have such weepy eyes it's important to wear waterproof mascara. Not all mascaras come in a waterproof formula and this can't instantly change that!

Thank you so very much for sitting through all my trash and some stash. I love trying new things and because I am so adventurous in trying new things I realize there will be a higher than average probability that some things won't work for me. Even still I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to try these products even if they didn't work for me. I really enjoy these sorts of posts because they are a great way to get new ideas along with a mini review at the same time. I hope everyone is having a great day!

All of the products were purchased with my own money aside from a few which were gifts from friends as noted. Please follow me on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram for your daily dose of positivity.
